Jane Update: One Week Old

Jane is now a little more than a week old, and it's hard to believe that 8 days ago we only had two daughters and weren't planning on having another until September. And along comes Saturday, July 17, and over three crazy hours we go from order to chaos, touching on almost every emotion on the spectrum.

Jane is doing very well. Her weight has stabilized (at a whopping 2 lbs, 10 oz), she's eating well, breaths on her own, and is the rockstar of the NICU because of her constant, uninterrupted progress. So far so good.

She is still tiny. Her head is about the size of a kiwi. Her legs are so skinny, it would make any frog jealous. And she's so cute, she melts the heart of all who meet her.

Here's Grammy (Kathleen's mom) holding Jane for the first time. We're so grateful for Grammy; she has been a godsend.
