Lena and her imaginary world

Lena loves talking to herself and pretending. Many of the child books indicate that imagination is for 3-year-olds. That's why you shouldn't trust everything you read in a book.

The other night at dinner as we were finishing up, Lena just started talking to herself. "Want water? OK." She was a having a complete conversation with herself, taking both sides, no toys needed.

Then on Saturday in the car she had some animal crackers. As she often does, they become toys (before she eats them). Two of them were having a pleasant conversation when suddenly and calmly, Lena bit the bear's head off. The conversation continued. Realistic? No. Imaginative? Yes.

Whoever said imagination is for 3-year olds must not have any kids. Nate used to get attached to some of his animal crackers or gummy treats, then he wouldn't eat them and just play with them. Happy playing, Lena!
