It's the Great Pumpkin, Lena Mangum

A couple of weeks ago we went to Cuff Farms (same place where we picked strawberries in the spring) to pick pumpkins from the pumpkin patch there. Like Linus before us, we were looking for the most sincere pumpkin patch in all the land, and I think we found it. Here are some pictures.

Here's dad and Lena 'playin' pumpkin.

Lena getting in her John Deere to bring in this year's harvest.

Besides picking pumpkins, we also went into a cornfield to pick out some decorative corn. We had to stop Lena twice from taking a bite.

Mom and Lena examining the pumpkins, trying to pick the most sincere.

On a related note, we were at Wal-Mart recently and saw a 3-pack of Charlie Brown movies, including 'It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.' That was one of my favorite movies as a kid, so we bought it. I was really hoping Lena would like, but realized the show wouldn't have the same visual dazzle as 'Wonder Pets' or 'Finding Nemo.'

But she loved it. She's watched it several times, and it grabs her attention each time. It probably shouldn't matter to me, but it was awesome to watch it with her, even the third time.

Hey guys- Looks like a great time at the pumpkin patch. This is one of my (our) favorite things to do in fall, we would go every weekend if we could. Looking forward to seeing pics of your carved pumpkins!
