Lena had been asking for spaghetti and meatballs for days. On her birthday, she got it.
Lena had two requests for her birthday: cake and balloons. We got her a Dora cake (which was a big hit) and some special birthday balloons, which she walked around the house with most of the evening.
Lena opening up a present. She is wearing her Princess Presto costume (complete with a talking wand). For the uninitiated, Princess Presto is a character on the PBS show Super Why.
During the cake eating portion of the program, Mimi and Dede (my parents) called to say happy birthday.It was an awesome birthday, the first one where she understood what was happening and had a sense of anticipation. This parent thing is only getting more fun.
