It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

The last two Christmas seasons have been great with Lena, but she didn't really get it last year at 16 months old. She liked opening up her presents, but didn't get Santa or Rudolph, and certainly didn't get the true meaning of Christmas. But this year has been different.

One of Lena's favorite books is a small fcloth book about the first Christmas night. So she knows Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus, the wise men, and shepherds. She can even identify Santa on sight.

So needless to say, this has been a lot of fun. There will certainly be another post or two about Christmas, but here are some moments thus far.

We decorated the tree mainly while Lena was napping, but she joined us at the end and put up some decorations on the bottom branches. We have a set of Rudolph ornaments that are just the heads from the movie characters attached to a bell. She loves ringing them.

Last year at our church Christmas party, Santa completely freaked Lena out, but who's surprised? A bearded guy in a weird outfit, who can blame her? But this year was different. Not sure if she understood the 'What do you want for Christmas?' question, but she enjoyed their chat. You can't really see it in this picture, but she is wearing Santa's belt.

And finally here's Lena at her best, leading the audience in Christmas songs. She's quite a little performer already.
