Apparently I can't spell check or load pictures on our blog. No idea why. The menu for adding pictures and spell checking does not appear. Pretty lame. I even set up another blog to try and work around the issues (and post some pictures), but my new blog had the same problem. So I'll have to describe Christmas, with pictures coming at a later date.
Christmas with Lena has been terrific. On Christmas Eve I spontaneously asked here who was coming to our house tonight, and she said "Santa." What does Santa bring? "Presents. He come down the chimney." She said all this with a gleeful smile.
We've watched several Christmas movies with her, including 'Twas the Night Before Christmas'; 'Christmas Eve on Seaseme Street'; 'Mickey's Christmas Carol'; and 'Santa Claus is Coming to Town.' There were also Christmas episodes of her favorite shows, 'Super Why' and 'Wonder Pets.' Through these, she learned all she needed to know about the big guy in the red suit.
And so you don't think we're bad Christians, she also can look at a nativity and identify every character. She'll even tell you that the wisemen followed a star.
Christmas morning was the most magical of my memory. Watching her face light up for each and every present was priceless. She was a little overwhelmed, but all of us had a great time. And it was made even more magical by knowing that we'll have a little almost 1-year-old next Christmas.
We hope everyone had as magical a Christmas as we did. May we all be a little more like the Savior this year and live more like children, filled with love and joy.
