What's going on with Clare

The awesome 13-month old Clare is changing and growing fast. Here are some current highlights of what's going on with Clare.

Movement. Unlike Lena at this age, Clare has mastered crawling. She is an expert army crawler, and is improving her knee crawl every day. She's also now pulling herself up on anything she can reach, so standing and walking are probably not too far away.

Eating. When Clare started on solid foods, she wasn't picky; that has changed in a hurry. She doesn't like anything green; she will it rice, but not if it's mixed with anything else; she's not a big fan of milk; she didn't eat the cake at her first birthday. The list could be a lot longer.

Talking. Clare's vocabulary is limited. The only word she says consistently is Dadda, but that can refer to anyone or anything (and occasionally to Daddy). She mumbles almost constantly, and will often 'talk' to you and eagerly await your response. She also become very good at pointing, and she knows a few baby signs (like 'more' and 'eat'). She also starting so say 'Uh-oh' when she drops something.

Playing. She loves playing peekaboo. She used to do it by putting her hands on her head, but now she's migrated to the eyes. She's loves to play with anything electronic (especially cell phones) and likes toys that make noise.

Big sister. Clare adores her big sister. Though she occasionally gets annoyed by Lena's overbearingness, no one can make her smile and laugh like Lena.

Music. Clare loves music. She 'bounces' to almost any song, and music usually makes her happy if she's a little cranky. Sometimes when Dad sings to them at night, after he's done singing, Clare with softly sing herself to sleep. Adorable.

Clare is just a bright, fun child. Though she says some traits with Lena (both rarely stop talking), they are different little girls, and we love them both.
