9 years and counting...

Nine years ago yesterday Kathleen and I were married for time and all eternity in the LDS Bountiful Temple in Utah. It's been an awesome ride since, including three states (Utah, Indiana and Wisconsin), many jobs, two stops in school (Kathleen finishing her undergrad at BYU and me earning an MBA at Purdue), two beautiful daughters, and lots of happy memories.

Below are two pictures from 2000, one of our engagement pictures, and another from that happy day. I love you Kathleen, and can't wait for another nine years and forever!

Clare watched a horse take a dump on the mountain side outside the cabin. "Ewww. That horse needs a diaper." 7/2011

"I wish I could marry Chris." said while we were talking about Kara marrying Chris this summer. She is smitten. June 2011

"Is that Ariel?" Lena when she saw her aunt Kara, who has red hair. 7/20/09

"What you say?" One of her favorite phrases, and it's usually directed at Daddy. 7/9/09

"No kisses. I'm grumpy." 7/5/09

"It's no smile time." 7/5/09

"No. I pray in Nursery." Lena's response when asked to pray at lunch after church. 5/31/09

"I know. I know it's not a toy." Lena after her Dad told her that the new labelmaker was not a toy. She was pushing the buttons as she said it. 5/30/09

"Don't do that to you friend." Lena scolding one of the Boston Bruins during a recent hockey game after a particularly vicious check. 5/12/09

"Bonk. What?" Lena watching hockey with Dad. 5/3/09

"Sparkely" Listening to some classical music. 3/31/09

"Mommy sad? I hug you. You happy now." It usually works too! 3/3/09

"Superman crying. His cape stuck." Lena telling me why Daddy's Superman figure was crying. 2/28/09

"You my best friend." Lena talking to Clare. She really loves her little sister. 2/12/09

"Tennis ball, please." Lena is really getting into the Australian Open. 1/28/09

"Wake up." Lena has used this one for months, however, it's especially cute when she says it to Clare. 1/14/09

"I know baby, I know." Lena trying to comfort Clare when she was crying. 1/13/09

"Think, think, think." Thanks to Winnie the Pooh. It's so adorable. 1/5/08

"Zap." It's her favorite line from her favorite show, 'Super Why.' It can make you fly. 12/30/08

"Focus, daddy." Frequently Adam tries to get Lena to focus (she's two), and apparently sometimes Dad needs to focus as well. 12/30/08

"Dangit." Pretty sure she got this one from Daddy, and she uses it in proper context. 12/13/08

"Refreshing." We use a spray bottle to wet her hair to comb it. She also likes to spray people with it. Adam started this and when it gets in her face she says "Refreshing."

"Oh gosh." She picked it up from us, and even uses it as a verb, as in, "I oh gosh" after she dropped her pans. 11/1/08

"So...hi...so..so..so...." So, aparently she got that from Mom, I say it to start a lot of phrases.

"Baby (fill in the blank)." Almost everything Lena sees now is a baby something.

"Daddy, you so funny."

"I find it!" Anytime she looks for something and finds it, she's excited.

"Cheese. Oh, cute." Said while using almost anything to take a picture and then looking at it.
