Return to the Dells, Part 2

Tuesday was time to do to an indoor amusement park at the Kalahari resort. Our first stop was the Ferris Wheel, a first for all three girls.

Kathleen and Jane enjoy the ride.

Lena loved it, but Clare wasn't a big fan. Kathleen went again with girls later on, and Clare screamed the whole time. The girls aren't exactly daredevils. Lena also went on the go-karts with Adam. Clare,Jane, and Mom enjoyed the carosal, or animals as Clare called it, many, many times while Dad and Lena were on the go-karts.

That night Adam drove to Madison to pick up Kathleen's sister Kara. The weather was bad, and the plane was delayed and diverted. After much trial and tribulation, Kara arrived safely. And after a white-knuckled drive through sleet and hail, they got back to the Dells. The next day was a frozen, lazy day. And it was also the first time Lena and Clare had seen Kara in almost two years, and the first time for Jane to meet her aunt. We also ventured to the Wilderness Waterpark. Though we spent most of the day in the kiddy sections, it was a blast. Lena ventured out into the wave pool a couple of times, and Clare went once until a wave went over her head. As mentioned above: not daredevils. In the afternoon, Adam took the girls back to the condo while Kathleen and Kara stayed behind to go on the big-kid rides. Crazy girls!

On Friday we drove back down to Madison to go to an awesome children's museum right next to the capitol buidling. We were able to dodge all of the protests.

After the museum, Adam took Lena back to the waterpark for some Daddy-daughter time (and 4 times in the wave pool!). Kathleen and Kara took the other girls shopping at the outlets.

Currently Clare is Toy Story obsessed. She plays a lot with little Buzz and Woody figurines. Kara bought the girls four Toy Story dolls (Buzz, Woody, Jesse and Pig). At first, Clare was scared of them. Now she can't live without Buzz and Woody, and sleeps with them most nights.

The trip was an absolute blast. We love the dells, and will return. And it was awesome to have Kara out to play with and get to know the girls.
