Decking the Halls

Decorating the house is one of our favorite Christmas activities. Trimming the tree, putting up the Christmas village; it's all a family affair.

Lena and Clare putting ornaments on the lower section of the tree.

Jane didn't participate a whole lot, but she did look super cute.

Kathleen and Lena decorating a small tree that was placed in our den.

Adam and Lena trying to put the angel on the top of the tree. It took us several attempts.

As always, we love getting ready for Christmas, and it's even more special as the girls get older.

Each year our town has a Christmas float that drives around town with Santa on it. It was a cold night and we didn't go outside to see Santa but watched him from our windows. As he was getting ready to leave, Lena, Clare and Daddy were watching from our back door. Lena was waving frantically, trying to get Santa's attention.

Just as he was about to disappear, Santa turned and noticed the little girls standing behind the glass door. He waved and shouted Merry Christmas.

Lena danced around like it was the greatest event of her life. "Santa waved at me! He knows where we live!"

Christmas is even better with a 4-year old.

Our kids liked Santa passing by our house as well. The fire truck was pulling his float, so now the kids tell everyone that is how he gets around. ha ha! (sorry Rudolph, you are so yesterday)
