A 'My Little Ponies' Halloween

It is no secret that I live in a family of girls. Though I strive to introduce my favorite geeky things, like Star Wars and superheroes, the girls cannot resist the alluring pull of My Little Ponies and princesses.

So when it came up to a vote for the family costume this year, it was Star Wars vs. My Little Ponies, and the precocious ponies of Ponyville won 4-1. The following is the result.

Here's the entire family in all our pony glory.

Rainbow Dash is a daring Pegasus with a fiery personality. No surprise she's Clare's favorite.

Apple Jack is Ponyville's resident apple farmer and cowgirl. Jane completed the costume with her own Southern accent.

The bookish and curious Twilight Sparkle is always reading. So is Lena.

Shining Armor is a prince and captain of the guard. Adam was dashing as one of the few male ponies. Adam has been elevated to bronie status. 

The beautiful Princess Cadence is married to Shining Armor. In this case, Kathleen's magical power was making all the costumes.

It was a lot of fun to dress up as a family. I even scored enough Daddy/Husband points that we might even dress up as Star Wars next Halloween.

As Darth Vader might say, "Impressive. Very impressive."
