Lena loves dancing and is in ballet. She is in class with Ballet Minnesota, which annually does a production of The Nutcracker here in St. Paul. The youngest students are cast as mice in the famous holiday ballet, and Lena is pictured above in most of her costume -- the mask is missing.
She had a blast being in the ballet, even though she was only on stage for a few minutes, and then to take a bow at the end. It was hard to tell which of the many mice was her in full costume, but it was thrilling as parents to see her out there. In her year and a half in ballet, she's improved a lot.
Later that day, Adam took Lena to the Mall of America for a Daddy/daughter date. They ate lousy food, shopped for presents, had ice cream, and went on a carosel.
Two days later, Kathleen took Lena to the ballet so she could see it. It started at 7:30pm and Lena wasn't able to stay awake the entire time, but she loved it.
Lena had a great Nutcracker week, and it was a great way to get ready for Christmas.
